Early on, my father had instilled in me a love for aerospace, and aviation. It had been his dream to become a pilot, and I had picked that quality growing up. A year after he passed away, when I was thirteen years of age, I enrolled myself in flight classes to hopefully obtain my private pilot’s license. Currently, I have attained numerous flight hours with several solo take-offs and landings. This extracurricular has allowed me to confirm my passion for aviation and aerospace, and familiarize myself with avionic technology. I currently train at the Essex County Airport, and by the end of 2024, aim to earn my license!

After my father’s passing, I was motivated and determined to support other kids and families who were subjected to the same circumstances as me. In April of 2022, I launched a platform with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization that had supported my family during our time in need, and raised over $5,000 in the span of 3-5 days, as well as participated in the annual “Big Climb.” Here, I was able to connect with, speak to, and meet other kids who have shared similar stories to mine, and participate in an event that not only brought hope, peace, and love to others around me, but also myself.

While involving myself in acts of service for humans, my heart had always migrated toward animals equally. When I was 7, I decided, with my parent’s permission, to conduct a fundraiser for the animal shelter, selling lemonade at one-dollar a cup. To my surprise, that one day spent at a fair had raised enough money to care for and release dogs from an entire shelter, and find them loving/suitable homes. I repeated this fundraiser year after year, cooking crepes at fairs (age 11), conducting/participating in walk-a-thons, and of course, more lemonade stands. Now, having personally raised over $5,000 for this cause, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help give a voice to creatures that don’t have one, and wish to pursue this endeavor as long as I physically can. Recently, I organized a “service day” with the Secaucus Animal shelter, which allowed elementary students to help out with daily chores that took place regarding the animals.

Cross Country/ Indoor + Outdoor Track
In 9th grade, I joined my home Cross Country team. I had no prior experience to running, however, quickly grew a love for the sport and the challenges it presented to me. Learning how to alter my mentality and work with a team to achieve a common goal brought me a new understanding of teamwork and individual success. I later proceeded to enroll in my local indoor track program, followed by outdoor track.

When Covid hit, it had immediately become imperative that we, in our own bubbles, do as much as humanly possible to assist, uplift, and bring light to those who may not be in as fortunate circumstances. The organization Konnekt Global seemed to satisfy this intention, and therefore, I had joined as a volunteer. From here, I was able to conduct tech talks to older generations to familiarize them with modern technology for communication purposes, conduct clothing drives, and meal deliveries to homeless shelters. Now, I serve as the organization’s director of fundraising coordinators, in the fundraising division, and manage a group of 25-50 volunteers for various projects. Recently, our team, including myself, won 1st place at NJSIA and competed nationally in Washington D.C.
